Beside the path
road cones guard us
from holes
while cars zoom past them.
Across the park
cicadas chirp their little
hearts out, singing a
beautiful melody.
At the back of the field
wet leaves fall from the
towering trees
that are swaying in the breeze.
In the middle of the road
the Hurunui humps
bump up like a roller coaster
In Disneyland.
Near the road,
the Ōtakaro river splashes
against the banks
with the ducks chatting away
underneath the sky.
On top of the couch
we all get comfy
all ready to watch a movie
in the weekend.
This is where I belong, Christchurch.
